Stronger Together:
Protect Our Jewish Home

What if there was no Temple Shalom – especially at this moment in Jewish history?

Temple Shalom is an essential piece of the fabric of Jewish Waterloo Region. It provides not only members but all Jews in the Region with an egalitarian space where all can participate, a beautiful building to gather in, a religious school and b’nei mitzvah preparation, and a trusted voice with strong connections to local politicians, police and interfaith networks.

Will you make a gift today to ensure the Temple can continue to serve
Waterloo Region’s Jews, especially now when we need it most?

Temple Shalom has always been a good steward of member dues, our only source of revenue. But recent months brought a perfect storm of unavoidable expenses. A rush of new post-October 7 security costs came just as major pieces of our building near the end of their natural life.

The Temple can no more serve the community without a camera at the door than it can without a furnace. Imagine if there was no Temple Shalom to open its doors for the next holiday, the next community security meeting or the next gathering to address the ongoing war as Jews because we couldn’t afford a security guard or because a major building repair had to be delayed. We face this possibility without your help.

Your gift today of any amount can make sure the Temple continues to serve Waterloo Region’s Jews safely and with dignity – no matter what surprises lie ahead.
